Everton’s Tyias Browning Joins On Loan

30 January 2017

Preston North End have completed the loan of Everton defender Tyias Browning for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old, who can play as a right-sided centre half or at right back, came through the Academy at Goodison Park and has represented England at youth levels.

He made his Toffees debut in the Merseyside derby in 2014 and last season made half a dozen appearances for the first team, until injury curtailed his campaign.

The Liverpool-born player will take the No.6 shirt at Deepdale and will go straight into the manager’s squad for Tuesday night’s trip to face Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City in the principality.

Speaking about his move Tyias said: “I’m happy to get playing again and I hope to be able to come in and make an impact. It has been quite a frustrating year for me, but I am pleased to be back playing and I am looking forward to getting going.

“I have heard nothing but good things about the club and can’t wait to get started.”

PNE boss Simon Grayson was happy to add to his defensive options as well, saying: “We are delighted to have signed Tyias. He is another versatile player, who will help us with the competition for places.

“Everton hold him in high regard and we beat off competition from a number of Championship clubs for his signature and we are grateful to Everton for allowing him to join us.”
