Finlay On "Fantastic Performance"

26 November 2022

Finlay Cross-Adair thought the team put in a “fantastic performance” as North End defeated local rivals Blackpool 4-0 at Springfields.

It was derby day success for the Lilywhites as they fired in four first-half goals to seal the contest.

Cross-Adair was one of four different goal scorers with Lewis Leigh, Kitt Nelson and Rio Pemberton also getting on the scoresheet.

“I thought the team put in a fantastic performance,” said Cross-Adair.

“The first half especially I thought we were excellent; we had another good start like last week which helps us really control the game.

“To score four goals and keep a clean sheet is always a big positive.”

This is the second time this season that PNEU19 have played Blackpool and they have bounced back from that 3-2 defeat in the Professional Development League Cup.

“Wins always mean more when we play these,” continued Cross-Adair.

“We had a game earlier on in the season which we lost, and I was with the first team when we got beat so it was good to get one back today.

“Being a North End fan, it’s always good to beat Blackpool no matter the level.”

The team have now won three games in a row to climb up the table in the Youth Alliance League.

“We had a good start to the season but dropped off the last month or so,” stated Cross-Adair.

“We have been too inconsistent over recent times which is the complete opposite to last year.

“I think we can see now though that the team is starting to bond and starting to gel, there is a good vibe around the group.

“Everyone is playing well and winning always helps and hopefully it will continue for weeks to come.”

North End are back in action next Saturday when they travel away to Shrewsbury in the hopes to continue this winning run.
