PNE can confirm that Lee Trundle has left the Club with immediate effect.
After missing the first part of the season with injury picked up in a tackle during the July clash with Morecambe, the 36-year-old made his competitive debut in the FA Cup second round win over Gillingham and he played his last game as a second half substitute against Bury on Boxing Day.
“Although he never really played for me, Trunds has been a cracking lad to have around - a true positive influence and a genuinely nice guy.”
PNE boss Graham Westley said: "Lee is a great lad who has suffered some dreadful luck here at PNE. He has a flourishing media career ahead of him and we have agreed to release him from his contract so that he can mix his football and media work in the best possible way.
The North End No.10 suffered a cartilage injury in pre-season and then a hamstring strain as he stepped up his training on his return from injury.
Preston North End have announced that forward Lee Trundle has agreed a mutual cancellation of his contract and will leave the Club with immediate effect.
