Register For A Summer Like No Other Next Monday

14 March 2017

Monday 20th March can potentially mark the start of your summer adventure thanks to Preston North End and NCS.

If you're in Year 11 at school as of this year, you can register for a once in a lifetime experience with our NCS Summer programme - a two week programme which sees participants spend time away from home and delve into unique experiences.

We're hosting an NCS Open Evening this Monday at 6.30pm until 7.30pm at the community offices located at the Back of the Alan Kelly Town End. The evening will give parents and teenagers the chance to find out all about our NCS programme with our NCS team on hand to answer queries you have on the night.

It is an open invite, and as long as you're in Year 11 at school you're eligible to sign up for the summer of your lifetime!

To find out more, contact PNE Community and Education Trust on 01772 693309 or email NCS@pne.com.

What Is NCS?

NCS builds skills and confidence and helps teenagers get ahead in work and life.

NCS invest over £1000 in each of our participants and Government backing means that it costs just £50 per person and sometimes even cheaper! This includes all meals and activities for the full two weeks representing great value for money for parents. Bursaries are available on a case by case basis and support is provided for young people with additional needs.

Participants spend their first week at an outward bound facility away from home participating in activities such as abseiling, water rafting and canoeing before spending time to live independently, typically at local university halls learning how to be self-sufficient, developing new skills and finding out more about the needs of their local community.

From there, participants will plan and pitch for a community project in their local area. Not only do participants have the chance to give something back and pursue a unique experience, it also looks great on CVs and helps with job, college and university applications. NCS is now recognised by UCAS and taking part is a sought after addition to any CV.
